In the usual Toftly manner we have tried to keep our pricing simple so throughout the year our tariff is £650 per week excluding Christmas and New Year - these weeks are £700 with all the added extras.

Short Breaks of  3 or 4 nights are available for £350, out of high season.

Upon booking a deposit of 25% is required with the balance payable 28 days prior to arrival.

We can accept major credit and debit cards (except American Express) or cheques made payable to Toftly View Ltd.

If you need to cancel, your deposit will be non-refundable. If you cancel after full payment is made unless we are able to re-let the property the payment will be forfeited.

Email cancellations must be confirmed by us to ensure they have been received.

We would suggest you consider holiday insurance.

At the traffic lights in Pickering follow the sign for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Take the first left directly before the station (Bridge Street) and continue onto Potter Hill. At the top of Potter Hill on the left are black metal gates signed Joiners Yard. Turn in under the narrow archway (6ft 11in wide) and follow the drive down to the parking area. Toftly Retreat is at the bottom on the right. There is plenty of space for parking behind the cottage.

Pickering is an ideal base for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The steam railway starts in Pickering and makes its way via Levisham Stop and Goathland to Grosmont. On certain days it goes all the way to Whitby. During the summer season the moorsbus takes visitors across the moors.  Buses also connect from Pickering with Whitby  Scarborough York and Helmsley. Within walking distance are shops, galleries, restaurants, the castle and a museum.
